Outrageous Arts
Shibari Practicioner
Welcome to the captivating world of Outrageous Arts Shibari, where the intricate art of shibari is redefined through the creative vision of Josh G.
Based in North Texas, Josh has devoted the last 4 years to the study & practice of shibari, exploring the aesthetic & therapeutic dimensions of this traditional Japanese rope art.
Josh's journey into shibari began as a personal quest for anxiety relief. Amidst various experiments with different techniques, he discovered the unique potential of shibari to serve as a form of acupressure, akin to the comforting embrace of a weighted blanket. This revelation was not just about finding solace in the knots & patterns of the ropes but also about uncovering a profound medium for artistic & emotional expression.
At the heart of Outrageous Arts Shibari is a philosophy that transcends the conventional dynamics of power associated with rope bondage. Josh's work is an exploration of the aesthetic harmony between the rope & the subject, focusing on the beauty & artistry of the form rather than dominance or submission. He emphasizes the concepts of divine feminine & masculine expressions, viewing surrender & authority through a lens of mutual respect & empowerment rather than control.
Outrageous Arts is more than just a platform for showcasing shibari; it is a mission to demystify & make shibari accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or experience. Josh aims to inspire individuals to live more "outrageously" by embracing the transformative & liberating aspects of shibari, whether for artistic, therapeutic, or personal exploration purposes.
Josh takes great joy in introducing shibari to individuals & couples, guiding them on a journey of self-discovery & connection. Through workshops, private sessions, & public demonstrations, he offers a safe & inclusive space for people to explore the depths of their desires & the potential for healing & expression within the bounds of rope artistry.
Outrageous Arts Shibari is a testament to Josh G.'s commitment to the craft & his vision for a world where shibari is celebrated as a form of art & healing. With each knot & pattern, he invites us to challenge our perceptions, embrace our vulnerabilities, & discover the beauty in surrender & authority, in harmony with the divine expressions of our being.
